What is Pure Mylk?

Pure Mylk is a plant milk concentrate.

How much concentrate/base do you use?

A good starting place is a 1:1 ration; 1 tablespoon of concentrate/base to 1 cup of water.

How do you make the milk?

You take 1-2 tablespoons of the base/concentrate and add 1 cup of water to a blender for 30-60 seconds and you get a fresh, homemade nut milk without any preservatives, fillers, or gums.

Alternatively, it can used as an ingredient for cooking, dressing bases, sauces, spread it on toast, make vegan cheese, smoothie thickener, dip your fruit or celery in it, get creative and tag us! Check out our recipe tab on our website and our Instagram @puremylk.me for recipes and ideas on how to use it.

What ingredients are in it?

We use just nuts, so the almond mylk concrete is just almonds, and the cashew is made with just cashews.

Does Pure Mylk have artificial flavor, filler, or gums?

No, Pure Mylk does not contain any sweeteners, artificial flavors, fillers, or gums.

How long does it last?

The concentrate is shelf stable and does not need to be refrigerated even after opening; it will last a year in a dark cool place (kitchen cabinet). The label on the bottom of each jar will let you know when it should be consumed by. Once the milk is made it will last for 7 days in the refrigerator.

How much of the base/concentrate do I use to make milk?

We suggest 1-2 tablespoons of the base/concentrate to 1 cup of water. The more your use the creamier and stronger the milk will taste. Test it out and see what works best for you.

Is Pure Mylk gluten free?

Yes, Pure Mylk is gluten free, dairy free, kosher, non-GMO, and vegan.

Do you have any sweetened milk concentrate?

No, we like to keep the ingredients clean and simple. If you want to sweeten your milk for coffee or matcha we suggest throwing a Medjool date, vanilla bean paste, vanilla bean extract, or maple syrup into the blender when you’re making your batch of milk.

    • Batch sweetened milk
      • 4 tbsp cashew base
      • 3 cups of water
      • 1 date
      • Splash of vanilla extract
Can you make vegan cheese?

Yes, we have a cashew cheese recipe coming soon!

Can you use the cashew nut base in place of soaked cashews in a recipe?

Absolutely, we recommend you do so as the texture is so smooth and creamy! The rule of thumb is to half the ratio in the recipe. For example, for every cup of soaked cashews the recipe calls for you would use half a cup of Cashew Nut Base.

Is Pure Mylk organic?

No, we want to keep the cost down so that everyone can have an opportunity to have a clean product at a price point that is more accessible. It doesn’t mean that we won’t do it in the future if the demand is there.

Do you do local pick up?

Yes, we will do local pick up for anyone in the Portland, Maine area that asks. Just reach out and we will work something out.
